To my amazement, it suddenly worked perfectly.
Then I found this driver on the Behringer site (Note: I am using Windows 7 and needed a 64 bit driver.) I installed the Behringer 64 bit driver in the middle.Īfter I installed it (with my USB guitar plugged into my laptop) I then rebooted. I knew it was not a problem with my cable because I have Native-Instruments Guitar Combos software installed on another laptop, and it worked. I downloaded two more drivers from the Behringer website which didn’t correct the problem. I tried both my Behringer iAXE USB guitar, and another guitar with Behringer Guitar Link. I installed the software and new drivers, but the software wasn’t getting any input from my USB. While it is still fresh in my mind, I thought I would share my experience in the hope that I will save someone else the frustration I had. Finally I stumbled upon a solution, and after rebooting my laptop Guitar Rig 5 worked like a charm. I looked through forums, YouTube clips, and general searches to no avail. Guitar Rig 5 is a great piece of free software that allows you to play guitar through your laptop with emulated amps and effects, but getting it to do this caused me hours of frustration.
Here is a video about the software I found on YouTube.
What I ended up doing was buying a small Blackstar ID Core 10 amp that I can play with headphones and connect to a laptop. Update after Windows 10 update - I give up, no solution in sight, but the post below may help you if you still have Windows 7.
